.) Start by seeking referrals from people within your circle. Friends, family and even old colleagues might have met their perfect agent already and would be more than happy to share them with you!
.) Meet with the ones you like the most and that specialize in the area you are looking to buy, sell or lease. Make sure they fully understand your needs and requirements so that your agent isn’t sending you properties that have no relevance to what you’re looking for.
.) Ask the agent to produce a valid broker card so you know they are legally operating within Dubai. If your agent isn’t licensed or working with a reputable agency, it could cause issues for you down the road.
.) If your agent didn’t come to you as a referral from someone you trust, reach out to former clients and ask to see testimonials. Any reputable agent would be happy to provide you with testimonials – if they aren’t, consider that a red flag!
.) Remember that most agents are only paid if they make a sale/close a deal. They are much more likely to push for a better price for you than if you were to deal directly with the landlord.
