Tekkorp Capital will join forces with News Corp Australia and online sports betting pioneer Matt Tripp to form a new sports betting venture.

Tekkorp Capital is an investment fund and strategic advisory firm that was founded by Matt Davey.

Through this latest project, the experience of the Australian online wagering market brought by Davey, as well as Tekkorp Capital President, Robin Chhabra, is set to be hugely beneficial.

Both executives will join the board of the new company.

In addition, BetMakers Technology Group has been chosen as the exclusive platform and service provider.

Bringing 25 years’ experience of gaming and growing early stage ventures, Davey commented: “The new venture is a significant investment by Tekkorp Capital and one that I am very excited about. We’re sure this is a good bet for Tekkorp Capital.”

Tekkorp advises companies in the global gambling sector on M&A, strategic partnerships and private capital fundraisings. In addition, it provides consulting services across a range of areas such as growth strategy formulation and new market entry.

Chhabra, the Founding CEO of Fox Bet, a joint venture between Fox Corporation and The Stars Group, added: “The Australian online sports betting market has been booming but is ripe for innovation and competition. This consortium has the mix of skills, experience and capital to become a significant player.”
